Justin Trudeau reprend du poil de la bête en ce début de nouvelle année. Plus mature, grisonnant, laissant tomber les nombreux costumes dont il s’est affublé au cours des dernières années, le politicien a fait réagir en arborant le presque bouc poivre et sel.
De retour du Costa Rica, Trudeau a pris une décision calculée en ne rasant pas sa toison vacancière. Lui, qu’on a vu revêtu des accoutrements les plus ridicules, a opté pour un style lincolnien après une victoire à l’arraché en octobre dernier. Justin Trudeau veut montrer qu’il a maintenant du poil au menton.
Ce choix de style ne peut être vu comme une simple coquetterie. Il tombe plutôt pile-poil pour le premier ministre qui se doit, au cours de son prochain mandat, d’avoir une image plus professionnelle et mature. Le dossier albertain lui donnera certainement du fil à retordre. Avec la menace grandissante du sentiment séparatiste au sein de cette province de l’Ouest, garder la confiance de la population sera l’enjeu de taille pour l’homme politique au cours de cette session parlementaire.
L’apparition de ce duvet est un geste politique calculé. Justin Trudeau espère mettre les Canadiens et Canadiennes de bon poil en leur offrant un politicien plus studieux et sérieux, qui donne à son mandat davantage de piquant. Il souhaite s’éloigner de l’image de celui qui ne se soucie que peu de l’environnement ou qui est incapable de se faire prendre au sérieux par ses homologues internationaux. D’ailleurs, quelle honte pour un pays comme le Canada d’échouer dans ses tentatives d’obtenir un siège au Conseil de sécurité de l’Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU).
Trudeau souhaite se projeter dans l’avenir et offrir un futur étincelant à ceux qui l’ont soutenu. Il devient par contre difficile de se concentrer sur les politiques quand le physique de l’homme derrière celles-ci fait les manchettes. Alors que sa pilosité fait plus parler que ses idées, Justin Trudeau se retrouve dans un cercle vicieux duquel il n’arrive pas à se sortir. Difficile de voir comment cela pourrait changer dans un futur rapproché.
